As the post title says, some of the new cabochons on my site are different sizes and shapes
I’ve made some larger squares with matching ’sticks’ as well as some larger round cabs. I can’t remember if I mentioned on here before, but I received a glass grinder for my birthday, yay! It works beautifully, so now I can play with the different shapes. My mind is buzzing with teardrops and half moons, etc.
If you do see a cabochon that you’d like in a different size/shape, be sure to contact me and I’ll let you know if I can do it for you.
I’ll also be ordering so high-temp wire this week, so that I can make some cabs with a loop fused in for pendants/charms and two loops for connectors.
Also, don’t forget, that every purchase you make on the website enters you into the end of year draw to win a bunch of glass pretties!
Cheers!
Anne

I’ve been playing around with gorgeous, sparkly dichroic glass and my frit blends. Dichroic glass is mesmerising when you see it in person, the way it catches the light and twinkles. You can see in the photo above, the centre front cab is flashing fire.
Below are my favourites from the experiments, they have a very intense orange/red dichroic colour that is just breathtaking. They were snapped up almost as soon as they were put on the website. You can see the others that I made HERE. I’m rather fond of the pair of green cabs on there too, yummy!

I’ve been making cabochons again!
Three lots were made up to restock some that I’d sold, they’re some of my favourites.
I also made up eight new groups. As you can see in the photo above, they include beautiful violets, pinks, greens and teals, with the odd contrasting colour thrown in. Just click on the photo to be taken to them on the website.
I’m thinking about getting some high temp wire, so I can fuse little loops in the side of the cabs to make cute lil pendants. What do you think?

I’ve come to a hard decision… due to the amount of frit blends that are already available these days, plus the fact that I’d have to order large quantities of individual colours, I’ve decided that I’m not going to be selling my own frit blend range.
This has made me rather sad, as I’ve really been having alot of fun creating different blends, exploring how the colours work together. But to be honest, it’s also a bit of a relief as the thought of having all that money sitting there in frit scared me.
I want to thank the lovely ladies who did testing for me, you all had such wonderful feedback, I hope you enjoy and happily use the samples I sent you to test.
I’ll still dabble with blends, but for my own use on my cabs and beads. I may occasionally end up offering some now and then but it won’t be a regular thing, only if I make a large batch of something I particularly like.
If you have been patiently waiting for me to make up the blends you’ve seen tested on facebook, and really wish to have some, let me know and I’ll be happy to get some made for you. So just ask!
Thanks!

I’ve just spent the afternoon catching up and taking photos of some new cabochons I’ve had made for a while.
These are the start of my mini production runs, and feature frit blends on both plain white backgrounds and coloured backgrounds. Some are transparent and really let the light shine through, there is one lot that are a gorgeous aqua colour and they appear to glow, hence their name Glow.
They are all listed under the Singles category, as you can purchase either one, or multiples, depending on what is available. You’ll also notice that they have quantity discounts, 10% off for five to nine and 20% for 10 or more.
I hope you like what I’ve been creating.
Cheers!

If you follow my facebook fan page, you’ll be aware that I’ve been playing with all my frit blends making cute little cabochons.
Well, they’re finally listed on my website! I had to hold off listing them for a few days as the website host was doing a server migration. Apparently they finished on Sunday, but I only found out today! Doh! LOL
I had a lot of fun making all these cabs. Some are just plain glass and others have 22kt decals on them.
I’m planning on having some production runs of certain blends, so you’ll be able to choose how many you want. I’ve already started this, with five each of 11 different blends, they’re waiting to be cleaned now. And now I have to buy more glass so I can make up more! LOL It’s always the way isn’t it, you really get into something and end up running out of supplies.
Anyway, I hope you love the lil cabs like I do.

Kerry from Affordable Inspiration asked me to make up a mini tutorial for her newsletter. So I had a think about what I could do and decided to make up a basic mini tut for my raked and twisted beads.
I set it up on a pdf, so if you’re interested in viewing it and having a go at these beads, you can download it HERE.
I hope you like it and find it easy to understand. I’ve never written any kind of tutorial before so please let me know how you find it.
Cheers!

To start 2010, a lampwork bead swap has been arranged on www.beadingforum.com.au. Basically, lampworkers make a group of beads to a theme, then send them to the organiser who sorts them out and distributes one of each bead to everyone.
For example, ten people participate, so they make ten beads, the organiser then sorts out piles with one each of those ten beads, and sends the piles back out to each participant. Hope that makes sense! LOL
Anyway, the theme for this swap is ’seaside’. I wanted to do something different and fun, so decided to make little beach hut beads. Each one of different colours. I wanted them to look like a child’s drawing, which is why I added the black detailing around the roof and doors. For the detailing I used glass paint, as my stringer work isn’t that great for such fine detail, there’s no way I’d have been able to make such tiny dots for the door knobs! LOL

I couldn’t resist showing you all the little huts together. The swap ends early February, so when I receive the other beads in return, I’ll be sure to pop a photo up of them for you as well.

It seems that I have confused a few people with the newsletter announcing the End of Year competion winner. To clarify, Danielle Rapinett, is the winner of the beads. I apologize to those of you that were unsure. Next time I send out any newsletters, I’ll be sure to check the wording better.
For the 2010 end of year comp, besides the main prize of all the orphan beads, I will be having two runner prizes, so there are more chances for you to win something.
There will also be a change to the entries. Previously, the entries were those that purchased in November and December. From now on, anyone who purchases anything from the site during the WHOLE year will have their name entered. Also, multiple purchases means multiple entries.
I’d also like to thank you all for your custom over the years, and hope we continue our aquaintance well into the future.
Regards
Anne
