Today I spent working on graphic designs for the lovely Amanda of Pallina Designs. I’m really pleased with how these turned out and so is she.

I made up a new business card for her, as well as an earring card and website banners, one for her website, and one for Etsy.com.

I really love the blues and greens that are in the bracelet image used on the cards, so carried a hint of the colours through the background of the cards.

The last few days have been very lazy days… lol I haven’t really been doing anything at all. I suppose I needed a break.

I’ve joined the current bead swap on the beading forum, a theme is picked for each of three weeks and we make a focal bead or set of three for that theme. After the three weeks are up we send the beads in and then they get swapped and we get three in return. This way everyone that joins receives another lampworkers beads in return. Wow I hope that made sense roflmao

Anyway, the series theme is time, and the first weeks theme is Prehistoric. I have been contemplating what to make for this.. when I think of prehistoric, I tend to think of dinosaurs, lush plant life, amber, volcanos, etc…. I have previously made some beads that would fit the theme perfectly, so I could revisit those styles or try something completely different. I get fleeting whisps of ideas in my mind, but nothing has really popped out and made me create. I hate it when the ideas just float there on the edge of your mind, like a fleeting, faded memory that you can’t quite remember. I get alot of ideas like that and it can become really frustrating trying to bring them forth and solidify into proper ideas with details, etc.

I do have an idea that I want to try involving my lampwork and some PMC (precious metal clay). I actually have several ideas I want to work with, but of course it’s a case of “I don’t have on hand what I need” lol It’s always the way, isn’t it?

At the moment I’m also working of a business card design for the lovely Rebecca of BEL Creations. I had fun chatting with her yesterday about her card design. She’s sending me a pmc pendant that she has made to photograph for the card. It will be great, as I will be able to get several shots and work one of them into the card design perfectly, rather than having one image that I have to ‘fit in’. I could even incorporate more than the one image, as she loves the idea of having a faded image in the background. lol My mind has started ticking over ideas and visuals of the design. The pendant she’s sending is a pmc geranium leaf with an ivy leaf on top, so I’m thinking of adding some vines/swirls so the photo isn’t just floating on the background…..

Anyway, enough nattering on from me. I really should stop thinking and talking and just do it!! LOL

I seem to have hit a bit of a slump with my lampworking.  The last two days when I’ve sat down to torch, nothing has turned out how I wanted!  I hate feeling like this!

Hopefully it wont last for long, but you never can tell.  I’ve been the same with jewellery making for several months now.

Tomorrow I think I shall go back to basics with my torching, maybe I’m just having a creative block.  I might try some simple two colour beads, see if that gets everything working again.

I think I’m getting over my lentil kick too lol  Feel like moving on to other shapes, so will be interesting to see what happens.  I might go have a browse of the press sites hehehe
