… by an amazing woman. Bianca Velder has posted on her blog an amazing and honest post about the beading scene in Australia. I think Bianca is a wonderful and brave woman, she has been ’figuratively’ kicked to the ground for voicing her views previously, views that should be voiced and shared.
Many people are happy to bury their heads in the ground and go with the flow, others complain but don’t do anything. We, Australian beaders, need to stand up and let ourselves be heard, tell them what we want and what we will not accept any longer.
I have alot of trouble putting my own thoughts down, getting the words just right. Bianca has done this brilliantly.Â
So, please, read her post.Â

I recently purchased the EZ Bracelet sizer from Yvonne of Crystal Flair. I have to say it is brilliant for something so simple!Â
I went through and remeasured all my bracelets and, oh my, were some of the measurements I had off! A couple as much as 2cm, which when you’re talking about bracelets is a huge difference!
It measures the circumference of the bracelets, taking into account the different sizes of beads, etc. Whilst bracelets may be the same size when laid out flat, the ones with larger beads will always make smaller bracelets for wear.Â
So, thankfully now, all my bracelets and the lonely watch, are all measured correctly.Â
Here’s a piccie of the sizer ‘in action’!

Wow! This is the first time I’ve been blog tagged!
It was Marcy Lamberson of Studio Marcy who tagged me. She makes the cutest sculptural lampwork beads, all different animals and characters, so be sure to check out her Etsy store.
Ok, so here are the tagging rules…
1. Link to your blog (tagger) on my blog.
2. Give seven facts about yourself.
3. Tag another seven blogs by leaving a comment on their blog and letting them know they were tagged and listing them (and their blogs) on your blog.
………………………..
Okey dokey… seven facts about me…
-
I’m my mum’s carer, she has Multiple Sclerosis (MS). She was diagnosed with it about Christmastime 1992 or 1993, can’t remember exactly which offhand. Though the first sign of it was when I was about 18 months old (1975/6), when she started having double vision.
-
I hate heights, seriously hate them.
-
I always try to stay organised and clutter free, but never quite keep it up. LOL
-
I’m fascinated by working on the family tree, the furthest I’ve gotten back on dad’s side is 1763, and to 1767 on mum’s side.
-
Speaking of the family tree, I tend to get sidetracked (story of my life!). I pretty much have the direct lines finished, but keep getting sidetracked finding out about the families they married into and the in-laws.
-
I love a good trashy romance novel.
-
I play the Nancy Drew computer mystery/adventure games. Yes! I admit it! I play them! LOL I really enjoy the puzzles, and love a good story to go along with them.
……………………..
And the list of seven blogs I’ve tagged…

I’ve just posted a heap of new listings on my website for both focals and sets.Â
I’ve really enjoyed torching this last week, I revisited a style of bead that I made when I first started lampworking and you can really notice the difference from then to now! There is also a new palette set in yummy rubys, purples and white, as well as the focals that didn’t make the finals at this years Sydney Bead and Gem Show.
Instead of listing a heap of photos, I’ve made up a little collage with close-ups for you. Hope you like what I’ve made!!

I just got an email saying I didn’t make it to the finals for the lampwork section of the Bead & Gem Show. Now I’m bummed and doubting myself, ugh!!Â
To be honest, I wasn’t completely happy with two of them I made as I was rushed in getting them done by the deadline. I had planned on different shapes than the two I ended up with.
Ahh well…. I’ll be splitting them up and popping them on my site sometime over the weekend.
Here’s what they look like together.
