Wow.. it’s hard to believe we’re already well into February! 

To be perfectly honest I’ve done no torching (too hot!) or jewellery making at all.  I have found myself in a bit of a creative slump, seems the inspiration fairy has definitely left the building.  Though the last few days, I have occassionally been getting some little flashes of ideas.  Hopefully, they’ll be bigger and more concrete by the time this heat we’re having eases off.  Apparently, it was forcassed that today in NSW, Australia it will be the hottest place on earth.  On Earth!!  Even hotter than the Sahara!!  Thank you to the person who invented air conditioning! lol

So, what have I been up to? I hear you ask..  I’ve been setting up a 130L fresh water tropical fish tank!  We used to have one when I was a kid, before my dad died.  I found that I have missed it and couldn’t resist getting one over the Christmas/New Years holidays.  I have a few more fish to get but here is a photo of it so far…

 

 

The plants will grow up taller in the background and hopefully give it a much more lush and fuller look.  They’ll also work at hiding the hardware in the tank.  Since this photo was taken, I’ve added more fish, so it’s looking alot more lively in there.

Besides setting up the tank, I’ve been thinking on what I do in general, and have made a decision.  I’m not going to accept anymore new graphics work for the time-being.  I will finish the jobs I have, and also be available to make changes, etc for existing clients, but will not be doing anything new.  I’ve decided to concentrate on my lampwork and jewellery, more-so the lampwork though.  I seem to keep finding myself pulled in too many directions or getting distracted from what I really want to do.  After saying that though, I may come back around to working on the graphics in the future. 

I’m also thinking of closing the ‘My Aussie Coupons’ site.  The time I tried to get an artistan/designer round going failed miserably and the excitement of the supplier coupons has also seemed to wane.  It most likely has something to do with the world-wide economic situation, everyone is tightening their belts so to speak.  I’ll ask for input on this decision on the MAC site anyway, so if you have any comments, please visit there and leave a comment.

Ahhh well, I think that’s all the news I have for now.  I hope those of you in this heat are keeping cool, and those of you in the snow up north are keeping warm!
