Frit Blends

November 14th, 2009 by anne071974

I’ve had several comments from other lampworkers about selling my frit blends, so I have finally taken the leap and made one blend up for sale.  This first blend is a mix of lovely blues and some teal/greens, which suit it’s name perfectly… Oceanic.

Oceanic

I’m using Kugler glass for the blends, and Kugler has a COE of 93 (or 96 depending on which source you use), because it has a high lead content, it allows it to be easily used with glasses from other ranges, from 90 to 110.  I’ve sucessfully used it with moretti glass both on the surface and encased.

So far I only have the three baggies of Oceanic available.  I’m waiting for some more frit to arrive before I make some more.

So watch this space!  There should be more blends available soon!!

New Beads!

November 2nd, 2009 by anne071974

Hi everyone!

Wow, I can’t believe how fast time has passed!  I’ve finally gotten around to listing some new beads on my website, a mix of focals, some pairs and a set.

I got my Nortel Minor torch hooked up finally and, ohhhhhh, it’s sooo good!  The flame is alot hotter and more defined so I can more easily encase beads now and work on details.  What’s even more wonderful is the different glasses that didn’t work well on the hothead are proving a joy to work with on the minor!  I can actually get colour from EDP!!  EDP is short for evil detrifying purple, and on the hothead it lost all it’s colour and pitted on me, but on the minor I get the gorgeous purple colour with some pink blushing, the beads are sooo purty!! :D

I’m hoping that the weather cools down again this week so I can torch some more, fingers crossed!

Anyhow, here’s a few piccies for you.

Toodles!

- this is the EDP!
